973 consulting experts Prof. Chen Siping visited our university

Invited by Prof. Tian He (Academician of CAS), Prof. Chen Siping of Shenzhen University (973 consulting experts) visited our university. Prof. Chen first visited the Key Lab for Advanced Materials, and Prof. Tian introduced the Key Lab, School and Chemistry and Engineering as well as the research achievements of all fields in the Key Lab. After that, Prof. Chen gave a lecture titled "Progress of Medicinal Ultrasound Engineering". Prof. Long Yi-Tao presided the lecture, Prof. Tian He, Prof. Wang Hualin, Prof. Hua Jianli, Prof. Chen Guorong, Prof. Cheng Yi also attended the lecture. After that, Prof. Chen visited the lab of Prof. Wang Hualin who introduced the scientific research progress of his research group.

Professor Chen Siping reviewed the progress of medicinal ultrasound in the past few decades, from the magnitude of the detected information from the medical ultrasound echoes, to detect the Doppler shift information, and then detect the harmonic information, elasticity information. He pointed out that the history of medical ultrasound echo signals detected is to reveal a hidden message in the history of evolving. From the B-ultrasound, to harmonic imaging, elastography ......, though every step is a leap forward, fundamental breakthrough is not achieved. There are two difficulties: First, it is necessary to break the sound characteristics of the aforementioned conventional imaging impedance difference, find new imaging parameters. Second, in addition to changes in real-time non-invasive ultrasound imaging reveals organ anatomical information, the information and functions at the molecular level of disease information should also be accquired. The lecture combined the research of the team of biomedical engineering of Shenzhen University together with medical ultrasound industry status and development, discussed the continuing hunt for new imaging parameters, several aspects of the research frontier and possible further breakthroughs. Professor Chen Siping foresaw that new ultrasound detected hidden information would bring new advances in medical ultrasound and a fundamental breakthrough in imaging.
