Dec. 2nd, invited by Prof. Jinggang Liu (School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering), Professor Wonwoo Nam from Korea Ewha Womans University visited our university. Prof. Nam first visited the Key Lab for Advanced Materials, and then gave a lecture titled "Biomimetic Metal-Oxygen Intermediates in Dioxygen Activation Chemistry". Prof. Jinggang Liu hosted the lecture and Prof. He Tian, Prof. Weihong Zhu, Prof. Jianli Hua, Prof. Yi Cheng and Prof. Jingyan Zhang (School of Pharmacy) also attended the lecture.

Prof. Nam is the Distinguished Professor of Ewha Womans University, Director of Center for Biomimetic Systems and Chair of Director of Association of Creative Research Initiative (CRI) Program. Also, he is Associate Editor of Chemical Science, Editorial Advisory Board of Accounts of Chemical Research, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Communications, etc. The Research of Prof. Nam included Bioinorganic chemistry; Biomimetic studies of heme and nonheme iron monooxygenase enzymes; Understanding the roles of metal ions in biological systems; Biomimetic oxidation reactions and Mechanisms of O2 activation.
