Prof. Tetsuro Majima from Osaka University visited our university

Apr. 30th, invited by Prof. Jinggang Liu (School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering), Professor Tetsuro Majima from Osaka University visited our university. Prof. Majima first visited the Key Lab for Advanced Materials, and then discussed with Prof He Tian about the academic exchanges in the future.

Prof. Majima attended the "Photocatalytic Reactions Using Superstucture TiO2 Crystalline Nanoparticles with Effective Charge Transfer Pathways". Prof. Jinggang Liu hosted the lecture and Prof. YiTao Long, Prof. Yi Cheng also attended the lecture. In this lecture, Prof. Majima introduce the synthesis of supertucture TiO2 crystalline nanoparticles, the methods to measure the charge transfer by single particle fluorescence measurement and the mechanism of photocatalysis by nanoparticles.

Introduction of Prof. Majima:

Prof. Majima is the Distinguished Professor of The Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research, Osaka University. Professor Majima received his BS, MS, in 1975, 1977, and 1980, respectively. He worked as a research associate in the University of Texas at Dallas for two years (1980−1982) and worked as a scientist in the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN, Japan) for 12 years (1982−1994). In 1994, he became an associate professor in the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (SANKEN), Osaka University. He was promoted to full professor in 1997. The Research of Prof. Majima included Photochemistry, Radiation Chemistry, Supramolecular Chemistry, Multi-laser Chemistry, Electron Transfer Chemistry, Biomolecular Chemistry, Single-molecule Chemistry.
