September 15th, 2014, led by deputy director of the National Natural Science Fund Committee Academician Yao Jiannian, the delegation of NSFC assessed and inspected the Innovation Research Groups Project “Optical-Electronic Analytical Chemistry on Interface” of our school. Members of the delegation are deputy director of the National Natural Science Fund Committee Yao Jiannian (Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences), deputy director of the Standing Committee of Ministry of chemical science of NSFC Liang Wenping, discipline leader of Analytical Chemistry of NSFC Zhuang Qiankun, deputy director of chemical science comprehensive and strategic planning department of NSFC Huang Baosheng, secretary of NSFC Office Secretariat Feng Qi. President of ECUST Qian Xuhong (Academician of Academy of Engineering), vice president of ECUST Tu Shandong, ECUST party committee standing committee Tian He (Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences), executive vice president of ECUST Research Institute Mou Bozhong, vice president of ECUST Research Institute Fu Rao, leader of innovation research group Long Yitao and all group members also attended the on-site inspection meeting.
First, Prof. Qian Xuhong (Presiden of ECUST) warmly welcomed experts to visit our school and introduced the background of the formation of the research group. Prof. Qian also gave thanks to NSFC for its long-time vigorously support on behalf of ECUST. He sincerely hoped that the experts would give a comprehensive guide to the future development of the team and provide valuable comments and suggestions.
During the meeting, the group’s leader Prof. Long Yitao briefed the overall progress of the group, including the research basic, recent progress, the future research proposals and arrangements. Prof. Long pointed out that the main objective of innovation research groups was to establish an advanced research platform, improve research and innovation capacity, culture cutting-edge chemical research talent. The delegation discussed with backbone members of the innovation research group and relevant directors of administrative departments. They also visited the Key Laboratory for Advanced Materials, which is the key lab for supporting the innovation research group, led by Prof. Tian He.
In the end, President Qian Xuhong, on behalf of ECUST, sincerely thanked the delegation again for their omni-directional, multi-level, multi-angle consultation and careful guidance. He pointed out that the school will attach great importance to the suggestions put forward by the delegation and to speed up the construction of a high level of chemical laboratory. According to the suggestions of the delegation, the cultivation and construction of high-level scientific research team for ECUST will be the issue NO.1 of our university in the near future.
