Prof. Li Yadong was appointed as the Honored Professor of ECUST, November 19, 2013

November 19th, Prof. Li Yadong, Academician of Chinese Academy of Science, was appointed as the Honored Professor of ECUST. The ceremony was presided by Prof. Lu Guanzhong(National 973 project chief scientist), and Prof. Ma Yulu (Vice-President of ECUST), Prof. Tang Yanhui (Secretary of School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering) also attended the ceremony. After the introduction of Prof. Li Yadong by Prof. Lu Guanzhong, Prof. Ma Yulu awarded Prof. Li Yadong with the appointment letter of “Honored Professor of East China University of Science and Technology” as well as the University Badge.

In the ceremony, Prof. Ma welcomed and acknowledged the joining of Prof. Li Yadong on behalf of ECUST. She stated that, the joining of Prof. Li will further strengthen the cooperation between ECUST and Chinese Academy of Science, help promote the scientific research development as well as the disciplinary construction of chemistry of our university. Prof. Li was delighted with the significant progress of our university in recent years and indicated that he will fully support the development of chemistry and other disciplines of ECUST in the future.

After the ceremony, Prof. Li attended the 109th "Famous Teacher Forum" and gave a lecture titled “Metal nanocrystals, clusters and catalytic”. First he raised three questions:Why choose metal nanocrystals? The significance of metal nanocrystals?  What are the challenges and opportunities of metal nanocrystals? About the three questions, he introduced his team’s work in the synthesis of metal nanocrystals, metal nanocrystals’ activity in small molecule activation and catalysis and the progress of metal clusters and nanocrystals. After the lecture, Prof. Li patiently answered the questions raised by presented teachers and students.
