Department of Fine Chemicals


Applied Chemistry (Fine Chemicals), bearing a history of over 50 years as undergraduate, master and PhD education base, is the Key National Discipline as well as Key Discipline of Shanghai. In 2005, new Department of Fine Chemicals was founded together with Applied Chemistry (Fine Chemicals) as a new discipline for undergraduates. The new-born Department of Fine Chemicals takes the advantages on the scientific research bases of the Institute of Fine Chemicals, and further combines the research and teaching, achieving the novel research-based undergraduate education system.

 

Faculty Members:
Department of Fine Chemicals is empowered with a group of young academic leaders, consisting of 8 professors, 4 associate professors. Among them, 3 National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China, 2 chair professors of the Cheungkong Scholars Program, 4 funded by the Cross-Century Talents Plan of the Ministry of Education and 1 selected for National “Millions of Talents Project”.


Research Fields:
Organic Electro/Optic Functional Materials, Bio-functional Materials, Applied Catalysis Technology, Medical Intermediates and Fine Chemicals.
