Prof. Andrew I. Cooper was Appointed as the Honored Professor, October 24, 2017

On October 24th 2017, Prof. Andrew I. Cooper (Fellow of Royal Society, Professor of Chemistry and Director, Centre for Materials Discovery, University of Liverpool), was appointed as the Honored Professor of ECUST.


Prof. Liu Changsheng (Vice-President of ECUST), Prof. Li Yongsheng (Director of International Cooperation and Exchanges of ECUST), Prof. Yitao Long (Dean of School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering) attended the ceremony. After the introduction of Prof. Andrew I. Cooper by Prof. Long, Prof. Liu Changsheng awarded Prof. Andrew I. Cooper with the appointment letter of “Honored Professor of East China University of Science and Technology” as well as the University Badge.

Prof. Liu Changsheng give his appreciations to Prof. Andrew I. Cooper for his outstanding performance in chemical and material research. And he also welcomed and acknowledged the joining of Prof. Andrew I. Cooper on behalf of ECUST. He stated that, the joining of Prof. Andrew I. Cooper will further strengthen the cooperation between ECUST and the University of Liverpool, help promote the scientific research development as well as the construction of chemistry discipline of our university.

Prof. Andrew I. Cooper accepted the appointment with great pleasure. He was delighted with the significant contributions of our university in chemistry world and signed an agreement for strategic partnership with Dean Long and indicated that he will fully support the development of chemistry and academic exchanges between Liverpool and ECUST in the future.

After the ceremony, Prof. Andrew I. Cooper delivered a seminar report titled Beyond intuition-computationally-led design of functional organic materials . After the lecture, Prof. Cooper patiently answered the questions raised by presented teachers and students.
