Unveiling Ceremony of Feringa Nobel Prize Scientist Joint Research Center, October 22, 2017

As one of the series activities to celebrate 65th anniversary of East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), Feringa Joint Research Center was launched on October 22, 2017. Honorary professor of ECUST, Ben L. Feringa, the Nobel laureate in chemistry, attended the ceremony with the university’s leaders.

“The joint research center is established in ECUST in the implementation of the national “double first rate” strategic plan. The center will focus on basic and cutting-edge study of controlled chemical system, as well as public service and training of future leaders in synthetic and applied chemistry.” ECUST President Jingping QU said at the welcome address.

The joint research center was led by Professor He Tian of ECUST and Professor Feringa, and funded by the Science Promotion Fund of Xuhui government, Zhangjiang Science Park and ECUST.

“I’m very appreciated the university’s effort for the creation of the joint center. The mission of the center is to advance the chemical research by the collaboration of excellent researchers within ECUST and my own group, emphasis on interdisciplinary research will be visible in the near future. I expect the best research results in our interest areas, and Happy Birthday! ECUSTers!” said Ben Feringa, international leader of the center.
